Time's Up

For nearly a month now, I have had an open invitation to Lenoir City councilman/Loudon County Road Superintendent, Eddie Simpson, to bring to light all the times I mislead everybody on everything I put on my website, as he stated in a News Herald story.

Thus far, I haven't heard a peep from him. You would think that if I had misled everybody on everything I put on my website, it would be easy to point all those stories where I had misled everybody on everything I put on my website. Apparently, Mr. Simpson couldn't come up with a single time I misled everybody on everything I put on my website.

A month should have been plenty of time to find at least one time I had misled everybody on everything I put on my website. So I'm going to move his rebuttal page down to the archives section. But the offer still stands to Mr. Simpson or anyone else, prove me wrong.

Maybe I should expect an apology? I'm not holding my breath. It is kind of sad though, that a double, elected official would make such an outrageous statement and then not back it up with a single fact. I'm guilty of  misleading everybody on everything I put on my website without any proof? Guilty by accusation? Where have we heard that before?

I did remember a couple more whoppers Mr. Simpson told. During the, kick Earlena Maples off the ballot, council meeting, he said she couldn't run for city council because the city charter and the LCUB handbook prohibited it. That was not true.

During the council meeting to pass the Rain Tax, he said it was necessary so Lenoir City would not have the drinking water problems like Flint Michigan. Of course the storm water, flood control, Rain Tax has nothing to do with drinking water especially lead pipe contamination such as they had in Flint Michigan.
