LOUDON (WATE) – Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run, which occurred Sunday morning.

The incident happened just after 5 a.m. when an unknown truck struck a motorcycle as it crossing over State Highway 72 onto Interstate 75 Southbound ramp.

The operator of the motorcycle, Harold Wood, 44, swerved to avoid the collision and lost control of the motorcycle.

Wood then slid under the semi or heavy truck and was run over.

The unknown truck fled the scene of the crash and Wood died from his injuries.
