A Massachusetts man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle
wreck in Loudon County, authorities said.
According to the
Tennessee Highway Patrol, Nathan J. Perras, 38, of Attleborough,
Mass., was negotiating a curve on state Highway 72 at 4:06 a.m. when
his 1993 Ford Explorer left the roadway on the right side. Perras
over corrected, sending the vehicle off the left side of the road
and into a tree.
According to THP Sgt. Jimmy Whitt’s report, it was not known if
drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Standard tests for both
have been requested.
Perras was not wearing a seat belt, Whitt noted in his report.
