THP: Lenoir City man killed in I-75 crash in Monroe County

SWEETWATER (WATE) - A Lenoir City man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday evening, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.

Troopers said the wreck occurred around 6:15 p.m. on I-75 near exit 62 in Monroe County.

THP reports Dario V. Herrera, 31, was driving his Acura northbound on the interstate during heavy rain.

His vehicle then left the roadway and went onto the right shoulder of the road. The car stopped after hitting a tree on the driver's side.

THP said Herrera had alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
