Teenager flees police, wrecks vehicle

A Michigan teen is being held on $48,000 bond after fleeing police earlier this week in a stolen vehicle in Lenoir City.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Charlie Huskin wrote in his report that on March 4, a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Michigan drove off from a traffic stop and during a pursuit the vehicle wrecked.

“A black male was inside the vehicle trying to bust out the driver’s rear window with his fist but was unable to escape the vehicle,” Huskin said, adding that after officers helped the man, later identified as Abe Sesay Visser, 19, of Grand Rapids, Mich., outside of the vehicle, the man became “uncooperative” in giving officers his identity.

“There was another white male in the vehicle, and once he was taken into custody by LCPD (Officer Bruce) Padgett was cooperative and forthcoming about any info that was asked of him,” Huskin said. “Both suspects stated that they were juveniles.” The two were taken to the emergency room at Fort Loudoun Medical Center for observation and were both later cleared for release.

Visser was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal impersonation, evading arrest and theft of property.
