Tax Increase Extra
| Monday I had a couple of stories where at least several Loudon
County School Board members are proposing a hefty property tax increase
for property owners in the name of employee raises. I also mentioned
that more than half of the school board members would be up for
re-election next year. Apparently, a lot of you are interested in knowing which board members terms will be up next year. School board seats are on the ballot in staggered terms. Next year all the seats from the odd districts will be on the ballot, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th. The current board members holding those seats are: 1st District 3rd District 5th District 7th District So, for those of you who have asked, these are the board members whose seats will be on the ballot next year. I don't know that all or any of theses members will actually vote for a property tax increase or not. The tax increase has only been discussed by school board budget committee so far. We'll see. |
