LENOIR CITY (WATE) - Two men have been charged following last
week's incident on Interstate 75 in Loudon County where a state
trooper was forced to open fire.
The driver, Nessie Brotherton, 40, is charged with DUI,
aggravated assault, resisting arrest, evading arrest and
reckless endangerment.
Passenger Ralph McNabb is also accused of evading arrest. The
two were arraigned Monday in Loudon County court.
According to THP, Trooper Eric Miller stopped a car Friday
morning on I-75 near mile marker 68 on suspicion of DUI. Then,
the suspect drove off, dragging Miller along the interstate.
Miller then opened fire.
A third person who bailed out of the car and called 911, Daulton
Brotherton, has not been charged.
