Still Spending

The Knoxville Home Builders Association continues to pour money into county commission races. As of Friday, they had sent at least four mailers in support of my opponent, Lenoir City councilman Eddie Simpson. The latest mailer made the same false claims for Simpson as previous mailers had.

Imagine, if you will, Simpson has been on Lenoir City council for twenty three years yet he can't take credit for anything he's done there because they're all bad. Property tax increases, Rain Tax, massive over development, tax breaks for developers just to mention a few.

The Knoxville Home Builders Association have been pouring tens of thousands of dollars into three county commission races. They are supporting Simpson, Julia Hurley and Mark Matlock. They've paid for at least four mailers for Simpson and at least that many for Hurley and a couple for Matlock. They also paid for the spam text on behalf of at least two of them. The Knoxville Home Builders Association have made a huge investment in these three candidates. What do they expect in return? I think we all know the answer to that.

Special interests may well be able to buy some politicians, but I don't believe they will be able to buy Loudon County voters.
