Shooting in east Knoxville sends man to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

 

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Lenoir City man was sent to the hospital after a shooting in the Walter P. Taylor housing development in east Knoxville on Monday night.

The Knoxville Police Department identified the victim as 29-year-old Stephen King. Officers spotted King in the parking lot of 2222 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue after reports of a shooting around 11 p.m.

King was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with what officers say are non life-threatening injuries.

Investigators and forensic technicians responded to the scene and have continued the investigation.
