Sevierville man helps local runaway

Officers arrested a Sevierville man June 8 for contributing to the delinquency of a runaway minor.
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brandon Dishner responded to a residence off Highway 70 East for a call of a runaway juvenile in the middle of the night. According to a report from Dishner, he met a man at the residence who said his 14-year-old daughter was missing.
The man said he was tracking his daughter on Life360 earlier that evening, and she seemed to be on her way home. The man said later he saw his daughter in a car with two other people at the intersection of Watt Road and Highway 11.
Dishner watched the car enter the Stonebrook subdivision. Dishner stopped the car and talked with the driver, Rocky Deondre Badgett, 19. Badgett told Dishner he met the girl on Snapchat, and she told him she was 17 years old.
Badgett picked the girl up at a church near her home, and they left to go “hang out” in Knoxville, according to a report.
Badgett was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and released on $1,000 bond.

Woman illegally dumps trash

A Lenoir City woman was charged Sunday with criminal littering after allegedly illegally dumping trash in an apartment complex’s dumpster.

LCSO Deputy Cody Bengel was called to an apartment complex in Lenoir City to investigate reports of a deaf woman illegally dumping trash in the dumpster. Bengel found Carolina Anna Marie Curley, 61, standing in front of a blue Chevrolet Equinox parked in front of the dumpster.

A complainant told Bengel that Curley dumps carloads of trash in the dumpster daily, sometimes up to four times a day. The dumpster is only intended for resident use, and Curley is not a resident. Curley has been told multiple times not to dump her trash there, and the Loudon County Convenience Center is “50 yards away,” Bengel wrote in a report.
Curley allegedly brings so much trash that it falls out of the dumpster, and residents are unable to throw their own trash away.
Curley on Sunday accidentally threw her car key away while dumping trash. The complainant tried to help her retrieve it, going as far as getting into the dumpster. The trash service was scheduled to pick up the next day but would be unable to due to Curley’s car being parked on the sidewalk in front of the dumpster, the complainant told Bengel. Moneymaker’s Wrecker Service was called to tow the car.
Curley was charged with criminal littering and held on $1,000 bond.
