At
last Thursday's budget meeting, Loudon County Court Clerk, Darlene
Russell, informed the committee that she plans to retire at the end of
this term in office in 2018. Ms. Russell also stated that her chief
Deputy, Carrie McKelvey, intends to run for the office.Ms. Russell has been employed with the county for almost forty years nearly all that time in the Court Clerk's office.
Ms. Russell was first elected to the office in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
She says she is looking forward to retirement and spending more time with her family and especially her grand children.
