Ribfest
4 Homes
Mmm, Mmm. There’s nothing like the smell of ribs cooking on the smoker.
Makes your mouth water just thinking about it, doesn’t it? Well, come
Saturday, August 16
from 1 till 5 PM, that’s just what happens on the grounds of The
Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Competitive teams will be ‘smokin’ their best and serving up ribs to the public. These teams come from East Tennessee and North Georgia, all claiming to be the best rib cookers around. Some are competitors from the BBQ Circuit, some are from the best BBQ restaurants, and some are local “wildcards” looking to make a name for themselves. Rib Platter Ticket holders vote for the best tasting ribs --“Peoples’ Choice Award”. Only 400 tickets are available for Rib Platter Tickets—this ticket entitles the holder to sample a rib from twelve of the teams (12 ribs equals a full rack), two sides, bread, and a drink. Other sides will be sold as well as deserts. The rib platter ticket is $25 in advance ($30 at the gate). Purchase on-line at Ribfest4Homes.com under Tickets and Purchases. General admission and parking are free. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and other treats may be purchased at the concessions tent and the Arts & Crafts area.
Families and children are encouraged to attend. We open our playground for play, as well as our Parish Hall and Church for tours. Guest crafters bring their wares to Arts & Crafts. Donations to Loudon County Habitat for Humanity are always welcome. We have already funded two Habitat Houses, and are working on the third.
