Report Card

Each year about this time, the Tennessee Department Of Education releases what they call the education report card. The report includes an enormous amount of information about every school system and each school in the state.

Here's the link to the report if you want to look at all the information. Click Here For Report Card. You can search by school system or individual schools.

Most of the news you here about each year, after the report is released, is pertaining to academic achievements or lack there of in some cases. That information is important and can be an important tool in learning where schools and systems need improvement.

The section of the report I tend to keep up with are the expenditure and enrollment information. This information helps when looking at the cost to tax payers of educating students and the relationship between enrollment numbers and costs.

Below is a six year comparison of that information for the Loudon County school system. I might note that there was something wrong with the 2010 per pupil spending number. That was the year commission gave the school system an additional million dollars but the figure went down. That had to be some kind of mistake.
