Lenoir
City school board member, Rosemary Quillen, has resigned her position on
the board. In a letter to the Lenoir City director of schools, Quillen
cited personal reasons for her resignation. Quillen also served as the
board's chairman. Ms. Quillen is also a member of the Loudon County
Commission.It will now be up to the Lenoir City Council to appoint a replacement to fill Quillen's unexpired term. The council could also opt to leave the seat vacant till the next election which will be in November 2014. Quillen's seat would have been on the ballot in the 2014 election.
