Population Change

The new census report shows that Loudon County grew by 13% or 6,330 new citizens. We had the largest percent increase of any county this side of the Nashville area. One neighboring county even lost population.

Other counties around us:

  • Monroe County +3.9%
  • Blount County +10%
  • Knox County +10.8%
  • Anderson County + 2.7%
  • Roane County -1.4%
  • Loudon County +13%

What does Loudon County have that none of the other counties has? The lowest property tax rate in the state, among other things. We also have a low cost of living and a high quality of life compared to other counties around us.

At tonight's county commission workshop, we will be discussing what measures we might take to preserve our rural setting and prevent urban sprawl and the negatives that come with it.

Below are a couple of interactive links where you can see the new census numbers for Loudon County and the rest of the state.
