Police, firefighters, emergency crews honored by East TN church

 

wbir.com An East Tennessee church honored police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers in Blount and Loudon counties today in a special appreciation service.

Members of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lenoir City sang patriotic songs and prayed for our emergency responders.

The pastor says several members of the congregation are officers or have had friends and loved ones die in the line of duty.

Pastor Eddie Chasteen said today was about honoring them.

"We love to see people who protect and honor the community, and that's sort of what God does for us," explained Chasteen. "He protects and honors in what he does for us, and that's what we want to do for others."

About 35 officers and emergency responders attended today's service.
