Poff named
Greenback High’s valedictorian; Lanagan, salutatorian

Greenback High School has named Jeremy Poff as this year’s valedictorian. Poff, son of Mike and Cheryl Poff, was a member of the band,
Chess Club, National Beta Club and the yearbook staff. He was also a
Life Scout and received a Meritorious Action Award for his part in
combating a tractor fire on July 3, 2010.
Poff received Daily Times Academic Letters in language arts,
math and science. He also received Greenback High School’s High
Achievers awards in computer science, English, math and science.
Poff plans to attend the University of Tennessee and major in
computer. The recent graduate, who has been accepted into the
Chancellor’s Honors Program, has received the HOPE Scholarship,
Prudentia Lodge’s James Leonard Jenkins College Scholarship and
Volunteer Scholarship.
