Pilot Makes
Settlement Offer
| It was announced at Monday's Loudon City Council
meeting that Pilot has made an offer to settle their lawsuit against the
city for the denial of their truck stop. While no details of the
settlement were disclosed at the meeting, it is understood that Pilot
has agreed to reduce the size of the truck stop and drop the lawsuit in
return for council's approval. Mayor Sweeney stated that the council had
just recently received the settlement offer and had not had time to
fully review the offer. Sweeney also stated that the attorneys will
closely review the document and a public hearing will be held before any
