Philly man charged after traffic stop

A Philadelphia man is facing drug charges after riding in a vehicle without wearing a seat belt.

Lenoir City Police Officer Riley Miller was conducting traffic enforcement Dec. 13 on U.S. Highway 321 near Interstate 75 in Lenoir City when he saw a black Dodge Challenger and noticed the front seat passenger was not wearing a seat belt.

Miller initiated a traffic stop and talked with Kaidan Anival Valdizon, 19, who told Miller he did not have his Tennessee Identification Card. Valdizon was later identified by his Tennessee Driver License.
While speaking with Valdizon and the driver, Miller could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Once backup arrived, Miller began a search of the vehicle.

Located in the center console of the vehicle was a wallet with Valdizon’s ID and a red cut straw with a powdery residue. Miller also found an open box of sandwich bags and an empty digital scale box in the passenger floorboard of the vehicle where Valdizon was sitting.

Miller later found a black Nike backpack in the back seat floorboard that contained two large, factory-sealed bags labeled “Loud Pax.” The label on the back of each bag indicated the product was marijuana and contained 28 grams for a total of 56 grams. The backpack also had 18 additional THC carts. A black digital scale was recovered in the same backpack.

Valdizon told Miller the backpack and items inside belonged to him.

According to Miller’s report, Valdizon explained that he makes trips to Michigan to buy the items and brings them back to Tennessee.

Valdizon was then placed under arrest and transported to Loudon County Jail. He was charged with two counts of manufacturing, selling, delivery of schedule VI drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $11,000 bond.
