Philadelphia man caught in drug bust

Philadelphia man is facing several drug charges after the 9th Judicial Drug Task Force and Loudon County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant.

After entering a Philadelphia residence Thursday on Washington Pike, 9th DTF agent Cody Fritts and other law enforcement officers found Ryan Staryling Barr, another man and woman and two children in the living room. In the bedroom of Barr and the woman, officers found a bag with 42 grams of marijuana, 11 Clonazepam pills, digital scales, 48 jars containing 168 grams of marijuana, a vacuum wrap, pipes, plastic bags, packing material and money, according to a report by Fritts.

“Found in an Infiniti G35 parked in the driveway were one jar of marijuana, one bag of marijuana, one bag of (a) white power, 17 boxes of bloom, three boxes of carts and 26 packs of THC edibles,” Fritts wrote in a report. “Found in a Chevy Impala in the driveway was a Glock 22 with a laser and two magazines.”

Barr, 22, was charged with manufacture, sell, delivery, resale of a Schedule IV substance, manufacture, sell, delivery, resale of a Schedule VI substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold and released on $26,000 bond.

Man arrested for false imprisonment

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Brandon Dishner responded to a call Sept. 1 for a possible domestic dispute.

While driving to the residence on Paw Paw Plains Road, dispatch told Disher the man had left the house and was somewhere on the property. Dishner spoke with a woman who said she had argued with Michael George Tapp over ex-spouses and other family issues.
“At that point, Mr. Tapp grabbed her and began dragging her onto the front porch of the residence,” Dishner wrote in a report. “He eventually continued dragging her down the concrete steps and into the yard. He then left her laying in the yard and returned into the residence.”
The woman came back inside and began filling a bathtub with water. Tapp then allegedly came into the bathroom, shoved her against a wall and took her phone to keep her from calling 911. The woman was able to get her Apple watch and call for help. Tapp left the residence.
The woman had a large knot on her head and scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs. Dishner saw a large hole in the drywall of the bathroom, along with broken glass in the kitchen.
Tapp, 31, Lenoir City, was charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment and released on $3,000 bond.
