More contestants have entered the race. Former
county purchasing director, Leo Bradshaw, has picked up a petition
for the 4th district commission seat. Incumbent Roy Bledsoe still
hasn't picked up a petition to seek re-election. Bledsoe has been on
the board for more than forty-five years.
Looks like another rematch may be shaping up too.
Judy Brown Hines has picked up a petition to again challenge
incumbent Circuit Court Clerk, Lisa Niles. Ms. Hines challenged Ms.
Niles for the seat in 2010 but came up short in her bid.
Many incumbents and challengers have picked up
petitions but many have still not filed their petitions with the
election commission to make it official. Candidates have until
February 20th, 2014 to file a qualifying petition to be eligible to
seek office.
