A woman died Monday after a pick-up truck rear-ended a commercial semi, authorities said.

The two vehicles were traveling east bound on Highway 11/Broadway in Lenoir City around 12:10 p.m. The flat bed semi was stopped at the red light at the intersection of Broadway and G Street. A maroon Toyota pickup truck failed to yield to the stopped semi and struck it in the rear killing the female passenger said Lenoir City Police Chief Don White.

The male driver was taken by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, his condition is unknown, White said.
