Out With The Old...
In With The New
Tuesday night's swearing in ceremony marked the
changing of the guard for Lenoir City. Newly elected officials were
sworn in and took their places in the city's government. Notably among
those changes were the end of the Matt Brookshire administration and the
beginning of the Tony Aikens administration. Brookshire was presented
with a plaque from council.
The first order of business for the new council was to fill the now vacant council seat with Aikens' move to mayor. Council, on the recommendation of Mayor Aikens, unanimously appointed Harry Wampler to fill the remaining two years of Aikens' council position. Sworn in were the new mayor, new councilmen, Harry Wampler and Jim Shields, returning councilmen, Mike Henline, Buddy Hines and returning school board members, Rose Mary Quillen and Bobby Johnson Sr. |
