One Million Approved
The Loudon County Board Of Education took another big
step forward in the building program Monday night. The Loudon County
Commission voted to approve up to one million dollars for the board to
use in getting detailed estimates for their proposed building program.
Notably absent from the commission meeting was commissioner Nancy Marcus who has consistently opposed any part of the building program that included a new school in Greenback. Earlier estimates had put the building program costs from 30-47 million dollars. Those estimates have been now lowered based on current economic conditions. More detailed projections in the building program costs will be necessary to develop the final plan. The Board Of Education will be meeting Thursday at which time the details of the million dollar expenditure will be determined. |
