One killed, four injured in I-75 wreck in Loudon County

LOUDON — One woman was killed and four other people were injured when their vehicle rolled several times in a crash along Interstate 75 in Loudon County this afternoon, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

All five occupants were traveling northbound in a 2001 Ford Expedition when the driver, Tiffy A. Cardenas, 30, swerved to avoid a previous crash near mile marker 72. The SUV went into a skid and rolled several times before landing upright, according to the THP incident report.

Donna J. Minton, 45, of Sweetwater, was killed in the crash, which was reported at 3:46 p.m.

Injured were Cardenas, along with 7-year-old Jasmine Shiane Minton, 9-year-old Leomar Ireol Cardenas and 10-year-old Krysta Minton, all of Sweetwater.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

Donna Minton was partially ejected from the vehicle, the report states, although it does not specify whether any of the occupants were wearing a seat belt or secured in a child safety seat.
