GREENBACK (WATE) – Lillian Creek, 5,
died earlier today from her injuries sustained in the crash
between a mini-van and Rural/Metro ambulance.
According to a preliminary report, the Tennessee Highway Patrol says Lillian was one of eight people, five children, injured in the accident. At 9:22 a.m. on December 31, troopers say a 2003 Ford Windstar mini-van driven by Jessica Creek, 26, of Harriman, was going southbound in a straight section of Highway 95 in Greenback. Troopers say Jessica Creek may have turned her head to tend to her passengers, which were her five young children. The Windstar crossed the center line and entered into a curve and hit a Rural/Metro ambulance head on driven by Richard Williams, 47. Four of the other children, Landon Creek, 7; Ryan Creek, 2; Isabell Creek, 6; and Nick Creek 4; were all taken to UT Medical Center by ambulance. Lillian Creek was flown by Lifestar, and was later taken to Children’s Hospital where she died. Officials say charges may be filed against Jessica Creek pending the investigation. |
