| The first candidate has picked up a petition to run for the Lenoir
City Judge position in August. Lenoir City resident, Walter Johnson,
picked up a qualifying petition Tuesday. Mr. Johnson is currently with
the public defender's office for the 9th Judicial District.
Candidates have till next Thursday at noon to qualify to run for the
office.
The Loudon County school board race appears it's not going to have
many competitive races. Currently, only one race is contested. The only
race that has more than one candidate qualified to run for office is 1st
District seat "A" where incumbent Kenny Ridings is being challenged by
Justin Burnett. Currently, all the rest of the races are uncontested
even though candidates have picked up petitions, most have not returned
their petitions to qualify.
Any candidate for school board also has till next Thursday, noon to
qualify.
