Now It's Getting Nasty
| A mysterious, anonymous flyer began showing up in
mail boxes in the Chestnut Ridge and Allenbrook subdivisions. The flyer
listed several statements as to why not to vote for a certain city
council candidate. Of course the person or persons responsible for the
flyer didn't say who to vote for. The statements on the flyer were
mostly meant to make the candidate look bad. Keeping with my policy of neutrality in the Lenoir City election, I will not publish the flyer nor even give the name of the candidate who was targeted. But when one candidate uses anonymity to attack another candidate, it's hard to put much stock in it. With a month and a half till the election, it's a safe bet this wont be the last negative campaigning we will see. |
