Woman faces drug,
paraphernalia charges
A Knoxville woman was taken to Loudon
County Jail on Sunday after police initially stopped a driver for
not wearing a seat belt.
Noticing a Toyota Sienna traveling along West Broadway Street in Lenoir City, Lenoir City Police Officer Tyrel Lorenz pulled over the driver, Cierra Nichole Busico, 27, Knoxville, for the traffic violation and found that the vehicle's registration expired in July. Police also learned that Busico's driver's license was suspended for failure to appear, according to the arrest report.
While being placed into custody,
Busico told police that marijuana was in her vehicle.
Lorenz wrote in the police report
that he found “in plain view” a glass pipe with marijuana
residue. He also found a substance believed to be marijuana in
the front passenger seat of the vehicle, according to the
report.
Busico was given a verbal warning
on the seat belt and registration violations.
She was charged with driving on a
revoked/suspended license, simple possession/casual exchange and
possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a $6,000 bond.
Man arrested for
disorderly conduct at Viskase
An Athens man was charged with
disorderly conduct stemming from an altercation this past week
at Viskase in Loudon.
Loudon Police Department Sgt.
William Evans spoke with a man, Phillip Ryan Collins, 32,
Athens, who was manning a picket post as part of the strike at
the plant.
Police warned Collins “multiple
times” to stay away from vehicles coming in and out of the
plant, according to the arrest report.
“Mr. Collins was cursing loudly and
approaching said vehicles within 5 feet and became very irate at
a subject inside the Viskase property,” Evans wrote.
Evans said a man was upset at
Collins for “scaring” his young daughter and wife who had come
to the plant to pick him up, according to police.
“Mr. Collins was warned to back up
and leave the property by this officer and did not immediately
comply,” Evans wrote. “Mr. Collins did remain verbally abusive
and it did become obvious his behavior would not modify or
change.”
Collins was charged and released on
a $2,000 bond.

manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a controlled substance,
possession of drug paraphernalia, evading arrest, failure to
appear on drug paraphernalia and violation of probation on
simple possession and held on a $15,150 bond.

• Stephanie Marie Armstrong, 30,
Lenoir City, was charged with failure to appear-fifth offense
and held on a $15,000 bond.
• Raul Oswaldo Lopez Herrera, 28,
Lenoir City, was charged with driving under the influence and
held without bond.
• Jeremy Sean Martin, 39, Lenoir
City, was charged with contempt of court and released on a $150
bond.
• Chris Edward McKenzie, 37,
Loudon, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license
and released on a $1,000 bond.
• Cecil Ronald Melton, 65, Lenoir
City, was charged with driving under the influence and released
on a $2,000 bond.
• Brian Scott Mills, 44,
Madisonville, was charged with disorderly conduct and released
on a $2,000 bond.

• Tyler Gregory Barr, 25,
Sweetwater, was charged with driving under the influence and
held without bond.
• Richard Scott Cash, 42, Lenoir
City, was charged with two counts of theft under $500 and held
without bond.
• Brandi Nicole Crank, 30, Loudon,
was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and held
without bond.
• Adam Carter Duckworth, 20, Lenoir
City, was charged with driving under the influence and released
on a $2,000 bond.
• Tabatha Kay Sutley, 31,
Maryville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and
held on a $1,000 bond. Noticing a driver in a purple Ford Ranger
not wearing a seat belt on Morganton Road, Loudon County
Sheriff's Office Deputy Kenny Palmer spoke with occupants in the
vehicle and “observed (that) they appeared to be nervous,”
according to the arrest report. After Palmer asked if the
vehicle contained any illegal items, Sutley told police that
“maybe” her purse contained a needle and spoon, Palmer wrote.
While searching the purse, police found three hypodermic
needles, three spoons with drug residue, three cut straws, a
pill crusher and a tourniquet. In addition to Sutley's arrest, a
passenger in the vehicle was issued a citation for the seat belt
violation.

possession and released on a $1,000 bond.

sessions and released on a $5,000 bond.

• Holly Elizabeth Breeding, 40,
Greenback, was charged with driving under the influence and held
without bond.

Sevierville, was charged with driving under the influence and
simple possession/casual exchange and released on a $6,000 bond.
• James Jonathan Wood, 30, Vonore,
was charged with driving under the influence and violation of
implied consent and held on a $4,000 bond.
Man arrested for DUI in 4-car crash
A Greenback man was taken
into custody on a driving under the influence charge
after a four-car collision this past week along
Morganton Road.
Loudon County Sheriff's
Deputy Brad Rayfield arrived on the scene to find that
four vehicles had been involved in a wreck with “debris
all over the roadway,” according to the arrest report.
The driver, John E.
Turcheck, 46, Greenback, was sitting on the curb
when police arrived and “seemed very confused,”
Rayfield wrote, noting that Turcheck was the driver
of a black 2011 Chevrolet Camaro.
According to Rayfield,
Turcheck had an “extremely” strong smell of alcohol
and was initially uncooperative with police.
“This officer asked Mr.
Turcheck how much he had had to drink and he advised
me 'not a drop',” Rayfield wrote.
The man later old
police that he had consumed three beers and a wine
cooler. He also said he had taken a Celexa, telling
police that “he knew he wasn't supposed to mix
them,” according to the report.
When asked what had
happened, Turcheck said he “was showing his a#@ and
lost control” of the car, Rayfield wrote.
According to the police
report, Turcheck's vehicle was traveling east on
Morganton Road at a high rate of speed, left the
road to the right, hit two parked cars and the
collided with a concrete slab in front of the
Greenback Community Center. The car then traveled
across a pair of grass embankments before coming to
rest near a spay and neuter clinic. A fourth vehicle
was traveling west along the roadway and was hit
with debris from the collision.
Rayfield wrote that the
first three vehicles sustained “massive damage,”
while the fourth showed minor damage.
A female passenger of
the car was transported to Blount Memorial Hospital
with injuries to her right forearm and a “bad burn”
on her shoulder, according to the report..
Turcheck performed
poorly on field sobriety tests. He was charged with
driving under the influence and released on a $4,000
bond.
Oct. 13
• Jason Lane Aldridge,
43, Philadelphia, was charged with two counts of
violation of probation and released on a $3,000
bond.
• Thomas Mason Cratty,
24, Loudon, was charged with criminal trespass and
released on a $1,000 bond. Responding to a call of a
disturbance in the 130 block of Candlenook Lane,
police spoke with Cratty, who was “hitting a blower
motor with a pick ax,” according to the arrest
report. The property owner said she did not know
Cratty and did not give him permission to be on her
property.
• Israel Martinez
Gonzales, 24, Lenoir City, was charged with failure
to appear on vandalism and released on a $2,000
bond.
• Melissa Leeann
Lawhorn, 48, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
under the influence and violation of implied consent
and released on a $2,000 bond. Dispatched to a call
of a vehicle running off the road on Highway 321 in
Lenoir City, police found Lawhorn sitting inside the
driver's seat. Lawhorn displayed signs of
intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety
tests, according to the arrest report. Lawhorn
refused to give a blood sample, according to the
report.
• Jason Allen Oody, 40,
Loudon, was charged with theft over $1,000 and held
on a $5,000 bond.
Oct. 14
• Glen Lee Chevalier,
58, Loudon, was charged with fugitive from justice
and held without bond. Responding to a call of a
domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Carding
Machine Road, police spoke with a woman who said
Chevalier became angry and started yelling at her.
After leaving the residence to go to a neighbor's
home to call the police, the woman told officials
that Chevalier had a warrant on him out of
Louisiana. Police verified the warrant on a check
through the National Crime Information Center and
found the man in the woods near the home.
• Joseph Anthony Cole,
32, Lenoir City, was charged with three counts of
theft under $500 and released on a $3,000 bond.
• Angela Fay Copeland,
37, Maryville, was charged with violation of
probation and held on a $2,000 bond.
• Charles Terrell
Johnson, 30, Loudon, was charged with driving on a
suspended license/financial responsibility,
violation of probation on possession of drug
paraphernalia, contraband in a penal institution,
failure to appear-general sessions and failure to
appear on improper passing child restraint and held
on a $15,000 bond. Loudon County Sheriff's Deputy
J.C. Shultz went to serve two violation of probation
warrants out of Loudon and Monroe counties on a
woman in the 400 block of Mason Lane when police
found Johnson at the residence. Shultz wrote in his
report that Johnson had multiple failure to appear
and probation violation offenses on his record.
After taking both into custody and transporting them
to Loudon County Jail, police found that Johnson had
a substance believed to be methamphetamine in his
anal cavity, according to the arrest report. The
substance tested positive for meth, according to
police.
• John Joseph McGrath,
23, Loudon, was charged with contributing to the
delinquency of a minor and released on a $1,000
bond. While performing a traffic stop on a Nissan
Pathfinder along West Broadway Street, Lenoir City
Police Department Officer Tyrel Lorenz spoke with
McGrath, a passenger in the vehicle, which “smelled
heavily of burnt marijuana, according to the arrest
report. The vehicle also contained three juveniles,
Lorenz wrote. McGrath told police that he had been
smoking marijuana with one of the juveniles in the
Pathfinder, and the three juveniles were out past
curfew, according to the arrest report. The
juveniles were turned over to their parents, and
McGrath was taken into custody.
• Dennis Marcus Morgan,
45, Maryville, was charged with failure to appear on
possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a
$4,000 bond.
• Beverly Kelley Rice,
51, Knoxville, was charged with theft under $500 and
released on a $1,000 bond.
• Jessica Nicole
Shultz, 25, Sweetwater, was charged with theft under
$500 and held on a $2,000 bond. Lenoir City Police
Officer Keith Sennett wrote in the arrest report
that he saw Shultz go through the self-checkout line
at a retail store in Lenoir City. According to the
report, Shultz scanned some items through the point
of sale system but placed other items into a bag
without paying for them. Shultz took the unpaid
items past the point of sale, and police found other
unpaid merchandise in her purse. The total value of
the stolen items was $65.26, according to police.
• Alisia Brooke Torres,
20, Loudon, was charged with failure to appear on
possession of a Schedule II substance and violation
of probation on theft under $500 out of Monroe
County and released on a $6,000 bond.

appear on driving on a revoked license and held
without bond.
• Samantha Marie
Stephens, 28, Lenoir City, was charged with failure
to appear-general sessions and held without bond.
