At Monday's county commission
meeting, the final piece of the puzzle fell in place. Commissioners
voted 6-3 to issue $110,000,000.00 in bonds to fund the long awaited
Loudon County school board's building program. Commissioners voting to
issue the bonds were Chase Randolph, Bill Geams, Bill Satterfield, Gary
Whitfield, Joe Morrison, and myself. Commissioners opposed were Rosemary
Quillen, Henry Cullen and Adam Waller. Commissioner William Jenkins was
absent. The projects include a new 7-12 middle/high school on the north end of the county. The Greenback Project includes a new auxiliary gym and a new football stadium. The vocational classroom expansion Loudon High School. The Philadelphia project includes the addition of 11 classrooms and a new auditorium. Construction of all projects could begin any time. |
