New Court Clerk Building

Loudon County has closed on the property on Hwy 321. Most might remember this facility as the former Green Bank building. It's just a block south of Lenoir City city hall and beside the new carwash under construction.

The county has been searching for property on the upper end of the county to open a second County Court Clerk office for many months. This is the office where you renew your car tags, driver's license and much more.

For years, the Court Clerk's office in Loudon at the Annex, has been needing more space. Unfortunately, there was just no room to expand there. It is also a fact that a majority of the people using the services at the office live on the upper end of the county. So it just makes since to grow in this area.

The building cost $1,085,107.00 which seems like a lot, but that's the going rate for property on the Hwy. 321 corridor. The money to buy the property came from the sale of land in the Center 75 Business Park.

No timeline is ready as to when the new facility will be up and running but it will be sooner than later.

This is another great example of Loudon County commission responding to the needs of it's citizens.

Below is a message from Loudon County Court Clerk, Riley Wampler.

Growing up in and around the County Clerks Office and in my professional career I have observed that customer service is paramount. At the most basic level it is serving people and your community.

The new Lenoir City location aligns the Clerks Office with the growth we see in our county allowing us reach over 32,000 residents within a 5 mile radius. A special thanks to the Loudon County Mayor, the Loudon County Commission, and all other parties working together to make this opportunity a reality.
