County Mayor Buddy Bradshaw swearing in Ms. Porcella
| At Monday's commission meeting, commissioners
appointed a new board of education member. Julie Porcella was
unanimously selected to fill the unexpired term of Brian Brown who
resigned back in December from the position after he moved to a
different district.
As commissioner Duff and myself looked for someone to fill the seat, Ms. Porcella's name came up numerous times as someone who would be a great person to take the position. Ms. Porcella will be filling the 5th district seat "A" position through August. Two candidates, Melissa Browder and Larry Brown, will be on the ballot for this seat. The winner of the election will take the position September 1st. I would like to personally thank Ms. Porcella for agreeing to take the position. She will do a great job representing the 5th district for the next six months. |
