More New Candidates
And Some Old Ones

The opening for petitions for the August school board election didn't take long to bring out some new candidates. William Jenkins has picked up a qualifying petition for 2nd district seat "A" currently held by Larry Proaps. However Proaps has announced that he will not seek reelection.  Current 2nd district seat "B" school board member Bobby Johnson Jr. has picked up his petition for reelection.

Over in the 6th district Christie Allen Kreischer, who had originally picked up a petition to run for county commission, has withdrawn her commission petition instead opting to run for 6th district school board currently held by Steve Harrelson. Harrelson has filed to run for county commission which will leave his school board seat open. All school board seats are nonpartisan.

State Representative Dennis Ferguson may have competition for his 32nd district state house seat. Julia C. Hurley, Republican, has picked up a petition to challenge Ferguson, Democrat, in the state election.

Stayed tuned. It's get'en good now.
