Meeting Reminder

To all,

As you probably already know, Loudon County is experiencing unprecedented growth in residential construction. Of course with that growth comes other issues for county residents that can be challenging, not the least is, the impact on the school system.

Earlier this month, county commission took a bold step to address the growth. We passed a six month moratorium on higher density, residential developments. We felt this would give us time to re-examine our current zoning policies to see if we need to make changes to prevent over development.

The Loudon County Planning and Zoning Study Committee is holding meetings in the different districts to get citizen input on future development in the county. Our next meeting will be in the 5th District at Eaton Elementary School on Tuesday, November 2nd at 6:00 pm. We hope to hear thoughts and ideas from members of the community.

Thus far from other meetings, it has become obvious that the vast majority of county residents are overwhelmingly in favor of preventing overgrowth and overdevelopment in the county.

We sure hope to hear from as many as possible on the matter. If you can't attend, feel free to contact myself or Adam Waller with your input.

Our goal is not to stop development in the county but to provide managed growth to prevent Loudon County from becoming another Hardin Valley, West Knox County or for that matter, Lenoir City.

Hope to see you on the 2nd.
