A city of Loudon man is
facing several charges after taking items worth $4,000 from a home
and later striking the victim’s vehicle in an attempt to flee the
scene.Loudon County Sheriff’s Office
Inv. Lt. Patrick Upton wrote in his report that Gregory David
Linginfelter, 39, stole about $4,000 worth of items from the home,
including tools, a gaming system, computer software, a television
and other electronics. Linginfelter was later located in Knoxville
with the stolen items.
“Upon conducting an interview with Mr. Linginfelter, he did
admit that he did burglarize said residence and that he did take
the items to try to obtain drugs,” Upton said. “He also admitted
to hitting the victim’s vehicle with his (vehicle) several
times, putting the victim in danger of being injured.”
Linginfelter was charged with aggravated burglary and reckless
endangerment and released on $12,000 bond.
Lenoir City man charged with seventh DUI
A Lenoir City man is facing his seventh DUI after hitting a tree
late last month on Buttermilk Road in Lenoir City.
LCSO Deputy Lance Anderson said Ian Keith Kidwell, 42, wrecked
his vehicle March 28 and left the scene in an attempt to “avoid
law enforcement.”
“The offender had head and face injuries (consistent) to being
involved in a crash. The driver’s side of the vehicle windshield
was smashed, protruding out, (consistent) to a person’s head
striking it,” Anderson said, adding that Kidwell had a revoked
license for DUI. “The offender’s driving history from 1999 to
2014 consisted of six DUIs and three crashes.”
Kidwell was charged with failure to appear for driving on a
revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident death/injury,
driving on a revoked license-second offense and driving under
the influence-seventh offense and held on $7,000 bond.
March 30
- Charles Ray Mogle, 71, Clermont, Fla., was charged with
theft of a motor vehicle and held on $15,000 bond.
Dispatched to a Lenoir City hotel parking lot in reference
to a reported stolen vehicle that had been rented from
Florida and was never returned, Lenoir City Police Officer
Brandon Gentry wrote in his report that the vehicle was in
possession of Mogle, who said that “he rented the vehicle
and was going to be late returning it.”
March 31
- Timothy Eugene Fisher, 29, Maryville, was charged with
failure to appear-contempt of court and released without
bond.
- Ashley Nicole Jenkins, 29, Ten Mile, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and driving on a
revoked/suspended license and released on $4,000 bond.
Stopping a vehicle for improperly passing, LCPD Officer
Blake Garland wrote in his report that the driver, Jenkins,
had a suspended license and an active warrant out of Loudon
County for failure to appear.
- Jack Steven Owens, 30, Loudon, was charged with driving
under the influence, cite-in-violation of implied consent
and criminal court capias and held on $2,500 bond.
Responding to a call of a driver who was either asleep or
passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at a gas station on
Highway 72, Loudon Police Officer Kent Russell wrote in his
report that upon arrival he noticed a man’s feet hanging out
the door of a Ford Expedition with his body slumped over the
center console. “A cigarette butt was hanging from his mouth
and the ash had fallen and burned a hole through his
sweatshirt,” Russell said, adding that the man, later
identified as Owens, was unsteady on his feet and seemed
confused. “I asked for his driver’s license and Mr. Owens
attempted to hand me cash,” the officer said, adding that
the man could not complete field sobriety tasks. “... After
the field sobriety tests, Mr. Owens admitted to taking
prescription Methadone but he was unsure if it was at 3 a.m.
or 5 a.m. at a clinic in Georgia.”
April 1
- Jason Eugene Ferguson, 28, Knoxville, was charged with
theft of merchandise under $500 and released without bond.
LCPD Det. Kevin Condee wrote in his report that in November
2013 Ferguson selected and concealed several video games and
five gaming systems and left the Lenoir City retail store
without paying for the merchandise, which totaled $314.92.
- Miles Matthew Martin, 27, Morristown, was charged with
violation of probation and released on $1,000 bond.
- Brandy Jane McGhee, 36, Walland, was charged with
assault and released on $500 bond.
- Ashley Renee McNish, 34, Walland, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and held without bond.
- Marina Joann Rhymes, 52, Lenoir City, was charged with
theft under $500 and released without bond. LCPD Officer
Brandon Gentry wrote in his report that Rhymes was seen
selecting Easter merchandise and walking out of the Lenoir
City store without paying for the items, which totaled
$343.97.
- Jeffrey Scott Wood, 49, Manchester, was charged with
theft under $500 and released on $2,000 bond. LCPD Officer
Blake Garland wrote in his report that Wood was seen at a
Lenoir City retail store concealing two DVDs and a packet of
pain relievers in his pocket.
April 2
- Steven Edward Baugher, 59, Loudon, was charged with
driving under the influence-second offense and held without
bond. Dispatched to a single-vehicle wreck on Tellico
Parkway, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Smith wrote
in his report that the driver, Baugher, had a strong odor of
an alcoholic beverage, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
“During the crash investigation, it was discovered the
subject had left his lane of travel crossing the center line
and losing control of his vehicle, striking a guard rail
(fence) and then overturning.”
- Diedra Diniel Hammons, 22, Loudon, was charged with
failure to appear for simple possession/drug paraphernalia
and released without bond. Responding to a call of a
reckless driver at a fast food restaurant parking lot, LPD
Officer Sam Harrison wrote in his report that Hammons had
two outstanding warrants for her arrest out of Knox County.
- Gregory Colin Hill, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with
aggravated assault, vandalism and child abuse and held
without bond.
- Austin Tyler Payne, 18, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and held on $1,000 bond.
- Christina Alice Seward, 35, Lenoir City, was charged
with assault and held without bond.
Two charged in assault of man, teenager
A Lenoir City man and woman are facing assault and other charges
after allegedly striking a man and a teenager last month.
Lenoir City Police Inv. Brad Brown wrote in his report that
Christina Alice Seward, 35, was involved in an incident with a
man March 27 at a residence in downtown Lenoir City.
“(The man) believes that she was trying to gouge his eye
balls,” Brown wrote in his report. “The defendant’s assault
of (the man) stopped when Gregory Colin Hill pushed the
defendant aside and began striking (the man) through the
driver’s window of the vehicle.”
In a separate report, Brown said Hill, 39, also struck a
15-year-old girl in the upper arm with a closed fist while
striking the man repeatedly in the face and neck.
“(The 15-year-old) was attempting to stop the defendant from
assaulting (the man). During her attempt, (Hill) struck (the
girl) in the upper right arm with his closed fist while he
continued his assault on (the man),” Brown said, adding that
the male victim sustained a broken nose and a bruised right
eye socket. Hill also damaged a vehicle during the attack,
the investigator said.
“The driver’s side door sustained multiple scratches and a
large dent and the rear driver’s side door sustained
multiple scratches as well,” Brown said. “... The estimate
in damages to the vehicle amounts to approximately $1,150.”
Hill was charged with aggravated assault, vandalism over
$500 and child abuse and released on $18,000 bond.
Seward was charged with assault and released on $2,000 bond.
Woman charged with DUI has child in back seat
A city of Loudon woman who was charged with DUI Saturday had
a child in the back seat of her vehicle, according to a
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office report.
Stopping a vehicle that had no visible registration, LCSO
Deputy JC Schultz wrote in his report that the driver,
Danielle A. Durham, 33, had slurred speech and was
lethargic.
“Ms. Durham had a small amount of a white crystalline
substance in a napkin and tin foil with a lighter between
her legs and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks,”
Schultz said. “She stated that she had a pending DUI in
Cookeville.”
A child was also in the back seat of the vehicle, Schultz
said. The crystalline substance was not identified in the
report.
Durham was charged with driving under the influence and
released on $2,500 bond.
April 2
- l Jarod William Julies, 23, Knoxville, was charged
with violation of probation on child abuse and released
without bond.
- l Austin Tyler Payne, 18, Lenoir City, was charged
with failure to appear-general sessions and released on
$1,000 bond.
April 3
- Dewey Adam Bryant, 29, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and violation of
probation and held on $6,000 bond.
- Randy Dean Dattilio, 60, Lenoir City, was charged
with driving under the influence and driving without a
valid driver’s license and released on $3,000 bond.
Stopping a vehicle on Hickory Creek Road for speeding 57
mph in a 35 mph zone, LCSO Deputy Kenny Palmer wrote in
his report that Dattilio had an expired license and a
strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. “I asked Mr.
Dattilio how much he had to drink at which time he
stated two glasses of cranberry and vodka,” Palmer said.
- Harry Machado Gordon, 35, Sweetwater, was charged
with driving under the influence and violation of
implied consent and released on $2,000 bond. Responding
to a wreck on Interstate 75, LCSO Deputy Matt Fagiana
wrote in his report that Gordon had a strong odor of an
alcoholic beverage, extremely slurred speech and was
unsteady on his feet. Fagiana further said Gordon
refused to complete field sobriety tasks and a legal
blood draw.
- Diedra Diniel Hammons, 22, Loudon, was charged with
two counts of aggravated assault, possession of drug
paraphernalia and vandalism and held on $22,000 bond.
Responding to a call of a domestic assault, LCSO Deputy
Bobby Hamilton wrote in his report that upon arrival he
noticed the front door was kicked in and the door frame
was broken at the Robinson Road home. Hamilton talked
with a man and a woman, who said Hammons came to the
residence to visit with her children, who are in custody
of the woman victim. Hamilton said Hammons went into the
bathroom and when she came back out “she appeared to be
very intoxicated on something” and became angry. “The
defendant then grabbed a steak knife and came after (the
woman) and the defendant then tried to grab (the man),”
Hamilton said. “(The man) then got the knife from the
defendant and pushed her out the front door and then
locked the door. The defendant then kicked the front
door in. “The defendant was very intoxicated on
something and had several needle marks on her arms and
feet,” the deputy added. “... When I searched the
defendant’s purse I found a syringe, a short straw used
for snorting pills and the plunger from another
syringe.”
- Charles Terrell Johnson, 29, Loudon, was charged
with theft under $500 and released without bond. LCPD
Det. Jack Fine wrote in his report that Johnson picked
up a bath faucet, valued at $43.57, at a Lenoir City
store and returned it without first paying for the item.
- Jeremiah Russell Partin, 18, Powell, was charged
with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, failure
to keep right of way and underage driving while
intoxicated and released on $3,000 bond.
- Amanda Collette Roberts, 36, Rockwood, was charged
with theft under $500 and released on $1,000 bond. LCPD
Sgt. Eddie Range wrote in his report that Roberts left a
Lenoir City retail store with $230.34 worth of
merchandise without paying for the items.
April 4
- Samuel Douglas Branum, 20, Philadelphia, was charged
with failure to appear on drug paraphernalia and two
counts of child support and held on $1,300 bond.
- Kimberly Lee Campbell, 45, Charleston, was charged
with driving under the influence and driving without a
valid driver’s license and held on $5,000 bond.
Dispatched to Interstate 75 in reference to a reckless
driver that had allegedly ran several vehicles off the
road, LCSO Deputy Kenny Palmer wrote in his report that
the driver, Campbell, had slurred speech and performed
poorly on field sobriety tasks. Campbell also had an
expired license. “Ms. Campbell did state that she was
addicted to pain pills and marijuana and needed help,”
Palmer said.
- Hobart Eugene Divine, 48, Greenback, was charged
with domestic assault and released on $2,000 bond.
- Octavio Martinez-Prieto, 53, Loudon, was charged
with driving on a revoked/suspended license and driving
under the influence and held on $3,000 bond. LCPD
Officer Jason Arden wrote in his report that Martinez-Prieto
had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, was unsteady
on his feet and performed poorly on field sobriety
tasks.
- Donald Jordan Pardu, 22, Lenoir City, was charged
with driving under the influence and released on $2,000
bond. LCSO Deputy Chris Hutchens wrote in his report
that Pardu had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage
and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. “Pardu did
state he had consumed alcohol this evening,” Hutchens
said.
- Douglas Edward Parker, 53, Greenback, was charged
with assisting other agency-Blount County warrant for
failure to appear and released without bond.
- Cynthia Ann Reid, 53, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and possession of
legend drugs and released on $4,000 bond. Stopping a
vehicle for suspicious activity in a residential area
late at night, LCSO Deputy Brandon Burley wrote in his
report that the driver, Reid, had a suspended driver’s
license and had multiple previous charges for failure to
appear. “Reid also provided consent to search the
vehicle which yielded 8 yellow oval pills marked, IP102,
believed to be Gabeapentin, a legend narcotic,” Burley
said. The passenger in the vehicle, later identified as
Regina Arlone Helton, 35, of Lenoir City, also
reportedly was trying to conceal her face from the
deputy and provided false identification. “Helton is on
probation and attempted to conceal her identity from law
enforcement. After having Helton exit the vehicle, your
affiant observed her to be unsteady on her feet, have
red/water bloodshot eyes and a strong smell of alcoholic
beverage upon her person,” Burley said. “Helton admitted
to consuming alcoholic beverages and based on the fact
that Helton lied to law enforcement and was involved in
suspicious activity in a residential area it was
determined that Helton is a danger to herself and others
and as such placed under arrest.” Helton was charged
with criminal impersonation and public intoxication and
released on $2,000 bond.
April 5
- Timothy Jordan Baker, 23, Madisonville, was charged
with driving on a suspended license and released on
$1,500 bond.
- Charles Derek Dawson, 34, Loudon, was charged with
domestic assault and released on $2,000 bond. Dispatched
to the Inn of Lenoir in reference to a physical domestic
incident, LCPD Officer Brandon Johnson talked with a
woman, who said that she and Dawson and been drinking
and got into an argument and Dawson started attacking
her. “(The woman) was laying stomach down with Mr.
Dawson mounted on top of her while hitting her,” Johnson
said. “... Upon my arrival I observed Mr. Dawson sitting
in the passenger seat of a red Ford Mustang attempting
to leave the motel.”
- Nicole Lea Hatfield, 31, Louisville, was charged
with four counts of possession of legend drugs and
criminal impersonation and held on $10,000 bond.
- Abigail Joann Turkett, 30, Lenoir City, was charged
with resisting arrest and Schedule II drug and held on
$5,000 bond. Responding to a call of a burglary at a
downtown residence, LCPD Sgt. Jeremy Dishner wrote in
his report that officers found numerous items of drug
paraphernalia in plain view inside the residence. “While
speaking with the defendant (Abigail J. Turkett), she
produced a cigarette pack that contained a small
cellophane wrapper that contained an off-white, crystal
like substance believed to be methamphetamine,” Dishner
said. “... While placing the defendant under lawful
arrest, she began resisting arrest by refusing to place
her hands behind her back and began actively resisting
myself and Officer Brad Brown. After a short struggle we
were able to place Ms. Turkett in handcuffs and
transport her to the Loudon County Jail.”
- Gilbert James White, 55, Lenoir City, was charged
with driving under the influence, violation of implied
consent and open container and held on $2,000 bond.
Dispatched to a call of a possible drunk or reckless
driver leaving Kimberly-Clark on Sugarlimb Road, LCSO
Sgt. Jerramie Bowen wrote in his report that the vehicle
swerved into oncoming traffic on Broadway Street in
Lenoir City. The driver, White, had slurred speech and
red, watery eyes.
- Jackie Nicole White, 27, Loudon, was charged with
public intoxication and released on $1,000 bond.
Dispatched to the Inn of Lenoir for a welfare check,
LCPD Sgt. Jeremy Dishner wrote in his report that White
had left her room and was intoxicated. “I located the
defendant walking down U.S. Highway 321 near McGhee
Boulevard. Ms. White was very unsteady on her feet and
smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage,” Dishner
said.
April 6
- Joy Lynn Dailey, 36, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving under the influence and released on $2,000 bond.
- Charles Terrell Johnson, 29, Philadelphia, was
charged with Schedule II drug violations and driving on
a revoked/suspended license and held without bond.
Noticing a vehicle without working taillights, LCSO Cpl.
Brandon Dixon wrote in his report that two small plastic
baggies containing a clear crystallized substance, which
tested positive for methamphetamine, and $53 were found
inside the vehicle. Dixon said Johnson was the driver
and was found to have a revoked license. Two other
passengers in the vehicle, later identified as Fidencio
Antonio Aranda, 20, of Lenoir City, and Alisia Brooke
Torres, 20, of Philadelphia, denied knowing anything
about the methamphetamine and cash, Dixon said, adding
that Johnson also denied any knowledge. Aranda was
charged with Schedule II drug violations and held
without bond. Torres was charged with Schedule II drug
violations and held without bond.
- Brent Coleman Matthews, 39, Durham, N.C., was
charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and
held without bond.
- Donna Elaine Purdy, 50, Lenoir City, was charged
with simple possession/casual exchange and held without
bond.
- Jose Luis Vazquez-Lopez, 55, Maryville, was charged
with driving on a revoked/suspended license and held on
$2,000 bond.
