Man faces charges after domestic dispute, pursuit

A Lenoir City man was taken to Loudon County Jail after a weekend domestic dispute in a parking lot along U.S. Highway 321.

Dispatched to a call of a male assaulting a female in a blue Dodge Neon, Lenoir City Police Officer Tyrel Lorenz spoke with a woman, who said she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, Christopher Charles Watson, 30, Lenoir City. According to police, the woman was “very uncooperative with officers” in trying to explain why she had a mark on her neck.

While police were speaking with the woman, another officer spotted Watson, who fled on foot when police attempted to speak with him.
Watson, who was caught near the highway, displayed signs of intoxication, according to Lorenz.

Police spoke with a witness by phone, who said Watson “was beating the female victim like a man,” according to the arrest report.

As police questioned Watson about the incident, the man said the two were arguing, and he shoved her. Watson was determined to be the primary aggressor in the incident and was taken into custody. The woman denied medical treatment and transportation and was advised of her right to seek an order of protection.

Watson was charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest and public intoxication and held on $4,000 bond.
