Man charged
with drugs, contraband
A Loudon man was taken to
Loudon County Jail this past week after police stopped his vehicle
for swerving in the early morning hours along Highway 11.
Noticing a silver Honda Civic cross the center line multiple times as it was traveling 20 mph in a 45 mph zone, Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy Blake Garland stopped the driver, Daniel Lee Ernest, 30, Loudon, at a gas station on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the arrest report.
Once in contact with the defendant, he did appear to be very
nervous and did lack control of motor skills, Garland wrote in
the report.
A check through dispatch revealed that Ernests license was
revoked.
The defendant did consent to a search of the vehicle, which
nothing was located, and also consented to field sobriety
testing, Garland wrote in his report.
Ernest was taken into custody and asked multiple times if he had
any narcotics. Ernest told deputies that he did not have any
drugs.
During a search at the jail, police found a small baggie with
white powder believed to be methamphetamine, half of a Suboxone
strip and a another baggie containing less than 1 gram of a
leafy substance believed to be marijuana in Ernests right sock.
Ernest was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license,
three counts of simple possession/casual exchange and contraband
in a penal institution and held without bond.
Sept. 23
Carl Adrian Huggins, 55, homeless, was charged with public
intoxication and released on $1,000 bond. Dispatched to a call
of a suspicious person attempting to purchase alcohol in the
1100 block of Highway 321 North, police found Huggins sitting on
an air conditioning unit in back of a gas station, according to
the arrest report. Huggins showed signs of intoxication and was
determined to be a danger to himself and others.
Jason Lee Peeler, 35, Madisonville, was charged with contempt
of court and held on $500 bond.
Ashley Marie Valentine, 26, Knoxville, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and released on $2,000 bond.
Sept. 24
Nathan Carson Craig, 35, Knoxville, was charged with driving
under the influence and driving on a revoked/suspended license
and held on $3,000 bond.
Brandon Lee Houck, 20, Knoxville, was charged with failure to
appear-municipal court and held on $2,000 bond.
Michael Kenneth Jordan, 26, Loudon, was charged with driving
on a revoked license-fifth offense and held on $10,000 bond.
Emma Jean Martin, 47, Etowah, was charged with failure to
appear and held on $2,000 bond.
Enrique Patino-Corona, 33, Lenoir City, was charged with
aggravated assault and held without bond. Responding to a call
of a domestic dispute at an apartment along Maremont Parkway in
Loudon, police spoke with a woman who was bleeding from her nose
and mouth, according to the arrest report. She told police that
Patino-Corona hit her multiple times in the face. Patino-Corona
initially fled the scene but later returned to the location and
was taken into custody, according to police.
Jessica Nicole Sanchez, 27, Sweetwater, was charged with theft
of property and released on $1,000 bond.
Shane Matthew Schmeling, 42, Maryville, was charged with
driving under the influence and held on $4,000 bond.
David Michael Word, 29, Lenoir City, was charged with sale,
loan or exhibition of material to minors and held without bond.
Sept. 25
Jason Christopher Hirn, 35, New Orleans, was charged with
driving under the influence and released without bond.
Kevin Robert Keding, 47, Tampa, Fla., was charged with driving
under the influence-allowing and released on $4,000 bond.
Charles Edward Robinette, 44, Lenoir City, was charged with
violation of probation and held on $1,000 bond.
Toby James Townson, 46, Lenoir City, was charged with theft of
property and manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule II
substance and held on $20,000 bond. On Sept. 21, Townson was
seen on surveillance footage at a retail store in Lenoir City
picking out items totaling $864, and he then went to the
register of Dawn Winkler, an employee at the store, according to
the arrest report. Winkler took the security tags off the
merchandise and put the items into Townsons car, according to
police. Townson paid for a drink and then left the store without
paying for the merchandise. Townson and Winkler admitted to
police that they conspired to commit theft as payment for
delivery of a Schedule II narcotic.
Dawn Lynn Winkler, 42, Lenoir City, was charged with
manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule II substance and
held on $20,000 bond.
Steven Dewayne Walton, 35, Newport, was charged with driving
under the influence and released on $2,000 bond.
Sept. 26
Christopher Michael Bertram, 28, Kingston, was charged with
theft of property and held on $12,500 bond.
Michael Steven Coffman, 28, Lenoir City, was charged with
possession of burglary tools and simple possession/casual
exchange and released on $2,000 bond. Responding to a call of a
theft at a gas station on Highway 321 North, Lenoir City Police
Officer Jason Arden learned that Coffman had been in the
bathroom for 15 minutes, according to the arrest report. Ninth
Judicial Drug Task Force Agent Brendan DeBoer spoke with
Coffman, who left the restroom holding a fixed blade knife
sheathed and in hand, according to Ardens report. While
conducting a search of Coffmans belongings, police found a 1
milliliter syringe and one orange oval pill believed to be 8 mg
buprenorphine in a laptop bag. Police also located numerous
items ... that could be used for the purpose of burglary, Arden
wrote, including a green ski mask, a black hooded sweat jacket,
a pair of black pants, gloves, a hammer, a pry bar, a flash
light, a box cutter and rope.
John Quincy Evens, 36, Tampa, Fla., was charged with driving
under the influence using a commercial vehicle and released on
$8,000 bond.
Susan Marie Merchant, 43, Philadelphia, was charged with
violation of probation and held on $1,000 bond.
Sept. 27
Brandi Nicole Crank-Griffin, 30, Loudon, was charged with
public intoxication and held on $1,000 bond.
Kenneth Wayne Greene, 61, Loudon, was charged with two counts
of failure to appear on disorderly conduct and violation of
protection order and held on $6,000 bond.
Kenneth Douglas Hampton, 52, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license, driving under the
influence and cite-in and held on $6,000 bond.
Nicholas Trent Keck, 20, Loudon, was charged with domestic
assault misdemeanor and held on $2,000 bond.
Christopher Lee Manion, 22, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving under the influence, driving on a revoked/suspended
license, simple possession/casual exchange and violation of
implied consent and released on $4,000 bond.
Jacob Arnell Quarles, 30, Sweetwater, was charged with
violation of probation on theft under $500 and released without
bond.
Victor Shandale Shofner, 25, Lenoir City, was charged with two
counts of violation of probation and held on a $1,000 bond.
Michael Paul Shubert, 34, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and released on $4,000 bond.
Leona Mable Turner, 35, Loudon, was charged with driving under
the influence and released on $2,500 bond.
Tiffanie Marie Webb, 29, Loudon, was charged with violation of
probation on theft and released without bond.
Brittany Meshelle Whaley, 39, Sweetwater, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
Jacquelyn Cassandra Wiest, 24, Kingston, was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $1,000 bond.
Tobey Truman Yates, 38, Kingston, was charged with failure to
appear and violation of protection order and released on $1,000
bond.
Sept. 28
Brian Paul Ellis, 38, Fairmount, Ga., was charged with
manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule II substance,
possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm
during a dangerous felony and held on $49,000 bond.
Kramer Ray Hendrix, 26, Maryville, was charged with failure to
appear on vandalism and held without bond.
Ashley Renee McNish, 34, Walland, was charged with failure to
appear-general sessions and held without bond.
Tommy Wesley Sharp, 46, Loudon, was charged with aggravated
assault and simple possession/casual exchange and held on
$16,000 bond.
Daniel Spencer, 40, homeless, was charged with contempt of
court and held on $150 bond.
Teen arrested for arson A homeless teenager was taken to Loudon County Jail for allegedly setting fire to an outbuilding at a residence in Loudon. According to a Loudon Police Department arrest report, Mark Anthony Stevens, 18, homeless, visited a home Sept. 28 in the 900 block of Rosedale Avenue in Loudon and "did knowingly set fire to and destroy an out building and its contents ..."
Police estimated the value of the contents in the building
was $5,000. Stevens was accompanied by a 13-year-old, who
told police that Stevens started the fire, according to the
report.
During an interview, Stevens told police that he was at the
scene of the blaze, did not tell anyone about the fire, shut
the door on the building while it was on fire and "ran
away," according to the arrest report. "He went on to state
that it wasn't his problem," according to the report.
Stevens was charged with arson and contributing to the
delinquency of a minor and held on $16,000 bond.
Sept. 27

Christopher Bradley Redmond, 18, Lenoir City, was charged
with failure to appear and held without bond.
Jennifer Rebekah Switzer, 25, Newport, was charged with
violation of community corrections and held without bond.
Joe Melvin Wilkinson, 59, Knoxville, was charged with
failure to appear on driving under the influence-fourth
offense and held on $12,500 bond.
Sept. 30
Terri Leighann Aikens, 39, Loudon, was charged with
harassment-nonverbal and released on $4,000 bond. Between
Aug. 22 and Sept. 18, Aikens "initiated unwanted contact"
with a man and a woman on multiple occasions after being
asked to leave the couple alone, according to the arrest
report. Aikens "called 911 and reported that smoke could be
smelled coming from the (couple's) house, causing law
enforcement and the fire department to respond," according
to Lenoir City Police Inv. Brad Brown. "This was unfounded."
On Sept. 16, Aikens called dispatch again and claimed the
couple threw trash on her property, and police determined
that allegation was not true. Two days later, Aikens was
cited in a Tennessee Department of Children's Services
report alleging that the couple's children "have been
subjected to physical and environmental neglect as well as
drug abuse and open access to firearms," Brown wrote in his
report. "These allegations were also unfounded by DCS. The
defendant continually makes contact with the (couple) to the
point that she is going out of her way to do so."
Travis Delane Brown, 36, Philadelphia, was charged with
contempt of court and released on $150 bond.
Jason Neal Dixon, 37, Philadelphia, was charged with
domestic assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication
and held on $2,000 bond.
Tammie Jane Fair, 42, Rockwood, was charged with failure
to appear-municipal court and held without bond.
Jason Eugene Ferguson, 29, Knoxville, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
Allyson Fay Fliegner, 34, Knoxville, was charged with
violation of probation on theft over $500 and released
without bond.
Margaret Ann Hatcher, 37, Lenoir City, was charged with
promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and held on $1,000
bond. Officials with the Ninth Judicial District Drug Task
Force conducted a month-long investigation into the
manufacture of methamphetamine at a residence in the 500
block of Bon Street in Lenoir City, according to a report
from April Farmer, an agent with the task force. Law
enforcement obtained evidence showing that Hatcher
"purchased several pseudoephedrine products at local area
pharmacies over the last several months," Farmer wrote.
After going to the residence on Bon Street accompanied by
DCS workers, police found multiple items commonly used in
making meth, along with a bottle containing "what appeared
to be one-pot meth lab," according to Farmer's report.
