Man admits hitting toddler,
charged with abuse
A Lenoir City man is being held at Loudon County Jail on a charge of
child abuse after admitting to law enforcement that he struck two
small children. Responding to a Town
Creek Circle residence in reference to a report of child abuse,
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brandon Burley talked with a
woman, who said she had left her children, ages 2 and 5, in the
custody of her temporary roommate, Philip Lawrence Jenkins, 30, of
Lenoir City. Five hours later, the mother returned home and found
fresh cuts and scrapes on her toddler’s bottom.
“After speaking with Jenkins, he stated that he did strike the
two-year-old female ... as well as he struck the five-year-old
boy,” Burley said.
Jenkins was charged with child abuse or neglect (if violent) and
held on $10,000 bond.
Meth lab found in truck
LCSO Deputy Kenny Palmer wrote in his report that a K9 alerted
to the presence of narcotics in a vehicle involved in a traffic
stop and that he noticed the driver, Jason Keith Holland,
wearing a necklace “that appeared to be a pipe used for smoking
marijuana.”
Marijuana was located inside the necklace along with four
needles inside Holland’s overalls, Palmer said. More drug
paraphernalia, marijuana and methamphetamine were found inside
the vehicle.
“Sgt. (Michael) Watkins located 10 more needles inside a
computer case along with three cut straws, a pipe used for
smoking marijuana and approximately two grams of a green leafy
substance believed to be marijuana. Sgt. Watkins also located,
in a wallet, behind the driver’s seat four needles, three which
were loaded with some type of liquid,” Palmer reported. “Sgt.
Watkins also located inside the wallet two baggies with
approximately 1.1 grams of powder total. The powder field tested
positive for meth.”
In the bed of the truck, Palmer found an active meth lab.
Holland, 37, Greenback, was charged with
manufacture/sell/possession of a controlled substance,
possession of drug paraphernalia, promotion of the manufacture
of methamphetamine and simple possession/casual exchange and
held on $14,500 bond.
Feb. 5
- Amy Elizabeth Everett, 32, Clinton, was charged with
violation of probation and released without bond.
- Henry Clyde Hampton, 56, Lenoir City, was charged with
public intoxication and released on $1,000 bond. Responding
to a call of an intoxicated person at a gas station on U.S.
Highway 321, Lenoir City Police Officer Brandon Gentry
talked with a man, Hampton, who had a strong odor of an
alcoholic beverage and slurred speech. “Mr. Hampton was
involved in an accident at his ex-wife’s residence earlier
in the night. He also made threats to go to his son’s house
and fight his son,” Gentry said.
- Mark Thomas Manchester, 32, Philadelphia, was charged
with violation of probation for simple possession and held
without bond.
- Anthony Richard Tinnel, 35, Philadelphia, was charged
with domestic assault and released on $1,000 bond.
Responding to a call of a physical domestic incident at a
Sweetwater Road residence in Philadelphia, LCSO Deputy JC
Schultz talked with a man, who said he and his sister,
Kimberly Diane Tinnel, had gotten into an argument. “... He
cursed her out at which time she scratched his face and neck
with her fingernails,” Schultz said. “Ms. Kimberly Diane
Tinnel stated that her brother had became angry and picked
up a chair and knocked holes in the wall, then threw the
chair at her.” Kimberly Diane Tinnel, 30, Philadelphia, was
also charged with domestic assault and released on $1,000
bond.
Feb. 6
- Michael Steven Coffman, 27, Lenoir City, was charged
with theft under $500 and released on $1,000 bond. LCPD
Officer Christian Dragon wrote in his report that Coffman
was seen placing a different price tag on an item valued at
$59.
- James Michael Gass, 26, Sweetwater, was charged with
simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2,000
bond. Responding to a Lenoir City retail store in reference
to a theft, LCPD Officer Jason Felts wrote in his report
that Gass had in his possession a baggie of a green, leafy
substance believed to be marijuana.
- Charles Phillip Hicks, 28, Greenback, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
- Brandon Sean Limburg, 25, Lenoir City, was charged with
violation of probation for simple possession and released on
$2,000 bond.
- Lincoln Terrance Sanders, 23, Lenoir City, was charged
with burglary of motor vehicle and theft of property and
held on $3,500 bond.
- Jeremi Heath Smith, 27, Loudon, was charged with driving
under the influence-second offense (later reduced to driving
under the influence-first offense) and held without bond.
- Rebecca Sartin Smith, 52, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and released on $1,000
bond.
- Davis Steven Turner, 43, Kingston, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license, driving under the
influence and cite-in-violation of implied consent and held
on $2,500 bond. Dispatched to Highway 72 in reference to a
reckless driver, Loudon Police Officer Brandon Nix talked
with the driver, Turner, who had slurred speech, a strong
odor of an alcoholic beverage and performed poorly on field
sobriety tasks. “While doing a inventory on Mr. Turner’s
vehicle, I noticed a 12 pack of beer that did have several
beers missing,” Nix said.
- Heath Barkley Yearwood, 43, Madisonville, was charged
with failure to appear-general sessions and held on $6,000
bond.
Feb. 7
- Brian Lee Broyles, 40, Loudon, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
- Maria Margarita Cifuentes Saucedo, 35, Lenoir City, was
charged with driving without a license and released without
bond. LCPD Officer Jamie Whitt wrote in her report that
Saucedo struck a parked vehicle on Second Avenue, causing
the parked vehicle to hit another. “She did not stop at
crash and report accident involving property damage,” Whitt
said. “She left the scene and put the vehicle she was
driving in the backyard of 403 West Broadway. She did not
have a driver’s license or insurance.”
- Lisa Malia Davidson, 52, Lenoir City, was charged with
theft under $500 and released on $1,000 bond. LCPD Officer
Jason Felts wrote in his report that Davidson was seen
concealing merchandise, totaling around $300, and walking
past all points of sale without paying at a Lenoir City
retail store.
- Dillon Jay Miller, 20, Madisonville, was charged with
possession of a Schedule II substance-morphine and held on
$20,000 bond.
- Eric Vernon Myers, 25, Knoxville, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and released on
$2,000 bond.
- Timothy Paul Spellings, 23, Lenoir City, was charged
with failure to appear-general sessions and released on
$2,000 bond.
- Jeffrey Scott Stephens, 25, Talbott, was charged with
manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule VI substance
and held on $20,000 bond. Dispatched to Teeters Road in
Greenback in reference to a suspicious vehicle, LCSO Deputy
Jamie Ketner wrote in his report that the keys were still in
the ignition and a strong odor of alcohol was coming from
the vehicle. “While looking for the registration, I noticed
there was an open bottle of Jack Daniels inside the glove
box and several blunt wrappers,” Ketner said, adding that
three men were later spotted coming from a nearby wooded
area. “These subjects stated that they were raccoon hunting.
I asked Mr. Stephens did he have anything illegal on him. He
gave me approximately 21 grams of marijuana,” Ketner wrote
in his report. “Mr. Stephens also stated that he had smoked
marijuana inside his vehicle that day.” Ketner reported that
the other men also had marijuana and paraphernalia in their
possession. “Mr. (Seth Austin) Stokes had in his possession
approximately 3 grams of marijuana and Mr. (Seth Thomas)
Fordham had in his possession one pipe used to smoke
marijuana.” Stokes and Fordham received citations.
- Jeremy Michael West, 20, Vonore, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and held on $4,000 bond.
Feb. 8
- Cecil Anthony Currier, 47, Lenoir City, was charged with
theft under $500 and released on $1,000 bond. According to
an arrest warrant, Currier was caught on video concealing
meat inside his pants and exiting a Lenoir City retail
store without paying for the merchandise, which totaled
$56.
- Justin Charles Davis, 35, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving under the influence and violation of implied consent
and released on $2,500 bond. LCSO Deputy Brandon Burley
wrote in his report that a vehicle was speeding 67 mph in a
50 mph zone and left its lane of travel on multiple
occasions. The driver, Davis, had red, watery eyes and an
odor of an alcoholic beverage.
- Tylin Montez Gordon, 21, Athens, was charged with
violation of probation on theft under $500 and held on
$1,000 bond.
- Melissa Joy Hasty, 31, Knoxville, was charged with
violation of probation-prostitution and indecent exposure
and released on $2,000 bond.
- Johnny Edward Lee, 62, Philadelphia, was charged with
manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule II substance
and released without bond. Stopping a vehicle for not
observing a stop sign at the intersection of Donelson Road
and McCrary Street, LCSO Deputy Cody Fritts wrote in his
report that the driver, Lee, was shaking and appeared
nervous and a K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the
vehicle. “Upon searching the vehicle located between the
driver seat and middle console was an inhaler with two
plastic baggies inside containing pills,” Fritts said.
- Tommy Dale Stone, 29, Loudon, was charged with theft
under $500 and released on $1,000 bond. LCPD Officer Brandon
Gentry wrote in his report that a man, later identified as
Stone, took a pair of shoes from a Lenoir City retail store
and left in a black vehicle.
Man threatens to kill woman,
children
A Knoxville man is being held on $68,000 bond at Loudon County Jail
after allegedly threatening to kill a woman and her children and
hitting the woman as the two were driving in Lenoir City.
Lenoir City Police Inv. Brad Brown wrote in his report that a woman,
who Brown identified as terminally ill and handicapped, alleged that
Glenn Larry Brown, 34, of Knoxville, struck her in the face, chest
and lower body as she was turning onto U.S. Highway 321 from the
Interstate 75 exit ramp.
“He told her he was going to kill her and that she would die
today. In fear of her life (the woman) tried to jump out of the
driver’s seat of the vehicle while traveling down the road but
Mr. Brown wouldn’t let her out of the car,” the investigator
said, adding that Brown threatened to kill the woman’s children
as well. “Mr. Brown repeatedly grabbed the steering wheel of the
car and tried to steer them off of the roadway.”
The investigator also said that the woman incurred serious
bodily injuries to her face, head, legs and arms.
Brown was charged with attempted murder-first degree, especially
aggravated kidnapping, assault and harassment (non-verbal
threat).
Meth lab found near Loudon park
During a search of a Loudon home believed to be manufacturing
methamphetamine, Ninth Judicial Drug Task Force agents and
Loudon Police officers charged a Loudon County pair earlier this
week for manufacturing the illegal substance.
Drug Task Force Agent April Farmer wrote in her arrest warrant
that during a search of the home, law enforcement found an
active meth lab in the basement of the Simpson Street residence.
Officers also found a man, Jeremy Christian Byrd, 33, of Loudon,
in possession of meth in his pant pocket along with another bag
of meth, several cut straws and a mirror with residue on it in a
woman’s bedroom. The woman was later identified as Tracy Elaine
Brown, 39, also of Loudon.
“While searching the residence Agent’s (sic) also found several
components inside the residence and outside that are used for
the manufacturing of methamphetamine,” Farmer said, adding that
both admitted to manufacturing meth.
“Ms. Brown is the primary renter of the residence where the
active lab was located and stated that she allowed and had
knowledge of the manufacturing taking place in the residence,”
she added. “There is a 9 year old child and a 18 year old child
(living) at the residence and the residence in question is
located within 1,000 feet of Legion Park.”
Byrd was charged with manufacture/sell/possession of a
controlled substance, manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a
Schedule II substance and promotion of the manufacture of
methamphetamine and held on $25,000 bond.
Brown was charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are
sold, promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and Schedule II
drug violations and held on $22,500 bond.
Feb. 9
- Christian Peyton Bennett, 19, Lenoir City, was charged
with failure to appear-general sessions and released on
$2,000 bond.
- Wayne Allen Davis, 33, Sweetwater, was charged with
assisting other agency-Blount County warrant and held
without bond.
- Terry Lee Jaynes, 31, Loudon, was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia and simple
possession/casual exchange and held on $2,000 bond.
Dispatched to a Cox Road residence in reference to an
unwanted guest, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jamie
Ketner talked with a woman, who said Jaynes was intoxicated
and verbally abusive. Ketner talked with the man in his
bedroom, where the deputy noticed a strong odor of
marijuana. “Mr. Jaynes was very intoxicated. There was a
marijuana joint in the ashtray, rolling papers and one
hypodermic needle on the nightstand in plain view,” Ketner
wrote in his report. “Mr. Jaynes stated that the ‘rig’ was
not his, but the marijuana was.”
- Thomas Jackson Morgan, 29, Rockwood, was charged with
criminal trespassing and theft under $500 and held on $4,000
bond.
- Ricky Lynn Partin, 50, Philadelphia, was charged with
fugitive from justice and held without bond.
- Christopher Bradley Redmond, 18, Lenoir City, was
charged with failure to appear-juvenile court on vandalism
and released on $500 bond.
- Chelsea Nicole Stephens, 26, Vonore, was charged with
theft under $500 and released on $2,000 bond. LCPD Officer
Brandon Gentry wrote in his report that Stephens allegedly
attempted to leave a Lenoir City retail store without paying
for merchandise.
- Ronnie Gene Tudor, 23, Athens, was charged with
violation of probation on possession of drug paraphernalia
and released on $2,000 bond.
- Joshua Paul Wright, 35, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear-public intoxication, assault and resisting
arrest and held on $10,000 bond. Noticing a “suspicious” man
outside of a Lenoir City gas station after store hours, LCSO
Deputy Billy Lewis talked to the man, later identified as
Wright, who said that he came to the store to buy
cigarettes. Wright allegedly gave false identification.
Feb. 10
- Raul Armando Bastida Angeles, 22, Knoxville, was charged
with driving without a valid driver’s license and released
on $1,500 bond. Stopping a vehicle for failing to dim its
high beams while passing oncoming traffic, LCSO Deputy Billy
Lewis wrote in his report that the driver, Angeles, said
that his low beams were not working properly and that he did
not have a Tennessee driver’s license or car insurance.
- Earl Kirk Newman, 23, Maryville, was charged with child
support and held on $700 bond.
- Samantha Johndale Oody, 26, Clinton, was charged with
contempt of court and released on $150 bond.
- Richard Warren Shepherd, 37, Knoxville, was charged with
an Anderson County warrant and released without bond.
- Christopher Scott Walker, 42, Maryville, was charged
with theft of merchandise under $500, criminal trespassing
and violation of probation and held on $6,000 bond. LCPD
Det. Kevin Condee wrote in his report that Walker allegedly
took a watch and a speaker from a Lenoir City retail store
without paying for the merchandise. Condee also said that
Walker had previously been banned from the store.
Feb. 11
- Kasey Lea Evans, 31, Bulls Gap, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
- Ruby Ann Huskins, 41, Tellico Plains, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and released on $5,000
bond.
- Alexis Faye Lawson, 24, Loudon, was charged with
aggravated domestic assault and held on $7,500 bond.
Responding to a Grove Street apartment in reference to a
past domestic violence situation, LPD Officer Kenny Ridings
talked with a woman, later identified as Lawson, who alleged
that a man had hit her in the face. The man said that he and
Lawson had been arguing over a car when “Lawson started
hitting him in his face then she got a kitchen knife and
started trying to cut him,” Ridings said, adding that the
man said he hit the woman in self defense.
- Joel Hamilton Lynn, 28, Sweetwater, was charged with
domestic assault, failure to appear-general sessions and
violation of probation and held on $7,500 bond.
- Randy Lee McCallie, 44, Philadelphia, was charged with
violation of probation and released without bond.
Feb. 12
- Nicholas Allen Bahr, 22, Loudon, was charged with
violation of probation-third offense and held without bond.
- Heather Mary Kathan, 39, Niota, was charged with driving
on a suspended license and held on $2,000 bond.
- Shawn Paul Spurlock, 39, Knoxville, was charged with
theft under $500 and held without bond.
