Madisonville manhunt ends in Loudon County

MADISONVILLE (WATE) - A man wanted in connection with an overnight police chase on Saturday that ended with the suspect running a woman over has been caught.

Bright was caught just after 3 p.m. on Sunday on I-75 at the Lenoir City exit, exit 81. He was apparently in the passenger in the car that a woman was driving.

He was arrested and taken into custody. The woman was not charged.

Late Friday, Officers in Madisonville said they spotted a stolen car with a man and woman inside at a fast food restaurant.

They said Bright is a suspect wanted for several other vehicle thefts in Blount County.

Officers said when they tried to stop the stolen car, Bright sped off and later crashed south of Madisonville near Guthrie Road. Bright then ran away from the scene.

Officials discovered that at some point during the pursuit, Bright ran over his female passenger with the stolen car.

The woman was seriously injured and flown from the scene by Lifestar for medical treatment. Her name and condition were not released.
