LOUDON — A Loudon County woman has been charged with especially aggravated child abuse and neglect, the TBI said today.

Misty Cosner, 30, turned herself in last week at the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department.

She was indicted by a grand jury after investigators presented evidence she had injured a child in her custody on Feb. 15.

The TBI said agents discovered Cosner had been running an unlicensed daycare out of her home at 106 Thompson Circle.

In mid-February one of the five children she had been caring for was taken to a hospital after complaining of a stomach ache, the TBI said.

The 4-year-old sustained a perforated bowel.

Cosner has been released from jail on a $3,000 bond.

More details as they develop online and in Tuesday’s News Sentinel.
