Loudon Passes Open Burn Regs
At Monday's Loudon City Council meeting, council
passed on first reading regulations that would control open burning
within the city. Differing from the county and Lenoir City, Loudon's
open burn regulations will allow for the use of air curtains for open
burning on large developments. The air curtain is a device that forces
high velocity air into a fire causing a much hotter, cleaner and fast
burning fire producing far less smoke and pollution. Other requirements
would limit proximity to dwellings and no burning at night.
Councilman Gene Lambert requested that paragraph 12 be under the "Permit" section be removed. |
