Loudon man arrested after foot chase

A Loudon man was arrested following a brief chase in Lenoir City.

Lenoir City Police Officer Chris Law arrived Oct. 4 on B Street in Lenoir City after a resident contacted law enforcement about a man on his property. Law saw a man walking from the area and was familiar with Junior Tinoco, 32, who lives nearby.

While speaking with Tinoco, Law witnessed that Tinoco was fidgety and appeared “extremely nervous,” according to an arrest report from the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office. Law asked Tinoco to remove his sunglasses and saw he had bloodshot, watery eyes and pinpoint pupils.

During the ensuring foot chase, Tinoco was told multiple times to stop. Tinoco turned to run in a different direction, and Law deployed his taser. One prong struck Tinoco in the right shoulder.

Tinoco ran down B Street and turned left into an alley on 6th Avenue and was taken to the ground by a responding officer at 7th Avenue and A Street. Tinoco was placed under arrest and transported to Loudon County Jail.

Law later learned Tinoco had an active felony burglary warrant out of Sevier County.

Tinoco was charged with evading arrest, public intoxication and resisting arrest and held on $3,000 bond.
