Loudon County suspect wanted after car chase now in custody

LOUDON (WATE) – The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect who ran off on foot after a car chase is in custody.

Deputies said they were looking for Newell Lee Jr. He was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon. Deputies said the incident started with a traffic stop in the Turman Drive area. Lee then drove through someone’s yard and came close to hitting a resident.

He was wanted on outstanding warrants in Anderson and will now face charges of felony reckless endangerment, felony evading, driving on a revoked license and vandalism in Loudon County.
