Loudon County Fire Rescue Moving

The Loudon County Fire Rescue, or as us old folks remember it as, the Rescue Squad, is in the process of moving their station one to it's new location. Station one is currently located beside the Justice Center. The new jail addition is certainly squeezing the current location but the squad has been looking to relocate for several years. Now the time is right.

The new location is located on Hotchkiss Valley Road East near the intersection of Sugarlimb Road. Still centrally located and even closer to the interstate. Chief Bill Hart was able to secure the 5 acre tract for $100,000.00. Loudon County will contribute $50,000.00 of the cost.

As luck would have it, the new site needed a lot of dirt removed and the new jail site needed a lot of dirt brought in. So dirt is already being moved on the site.

No particular date has been set for the new station to be completed.

The Loudon County Fire Rescue is 100% staffed with volunteers, trained and equipped. They provide services to a very large area of Loudon County.

On another note, you have or will soon be receiving the once per year request for donations to the squad. Be generous when you get your letter. The The Loudon County Fire Rescue is the greatest deal going for all us.
