Bridge Delayed Again
| Once again, the
planed new bridge over the Tennessee River below Fort Loudon Dam has
been delayed. Apparently, a portion of the bridge will need to be
redesigned to accommodate changes to
Coast Guard navigational channel requirements. The bids
for the bridge project were set to go out in October. The delay could be
many months. Sure seems like somebody in the process would have checked the regulations for the bridge before the design was completed. No doubt the redesign will be costly. |
