Loudon County man has been arrested for setting his parents' house on
fire Saturday afternoon. Loudon County firefighters were called to a home on Highway 11 near Old Midway Road shortly before 1 p.m.
Investigators with the Loudon County Sheriff's Department found 40-year-old Jeffrey Craig sitting outside of his parents' home.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly, but substantial fire, water, and smoke damage made the house a total loss.
The Loudon County Fire Chief said the fire started in a living room chair. Officers found Craig's personal items and stolen property in a storage shed outside of the home.
Deputies took Craig to the Loudon County Justice Center, where he confessed to setting the fire.
Craig has been charged with arson, felony theft, and filing false police reports. He is being held without bond.
