(WVLT) - A Loudon County woman has been indicted on sales tax evasion charges.

Revenue Special Agents arrested Chinyan Ye, 50, at her business in Loudon County Thursday.

The indictment charges that from February 2010 through December 2011, Ye failed to remit $21,636.99 in sales tax from sales at 72 Market & Deli. Bond was set at $1,000.

If convicted, Ye could be sentenced to a maximum of two years in the state penitentiary and fined up to $3,000 for the count of attempted sales tax evasion.
