Loudon Annexation 6

Tonight, 11/13, the Loudon City council will be meeting in workshop session. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm at Loudon City Hall. On the agenda is discussion of the annexation of the Dry Valley property.

Loudon mayor/realtor, Jeff Harris, has said he supports the annexation but will not support rezoning of the property to M-1 Industrial, but would only support rezoning the property to the lowest residential class, R-1. See below.

With these calculations, it looks like R-1, with sewer, would allow between 4 and 5 single family units per acre. Even more multifamily. That's a lot of homes on 176 acres.

It is hoped that an agreement can be worked out between the county and city to keep the residential zoning at a low density thus avoiding any litigation between the city and county. However, it is the responsibility of the county to protect the county residents from just this kind of city moves.
