Loudon Annexation 12

With a standing room only crowd, and after a two hour discussion, the Loudon City Planning commission tabled the request for the land on Dry Valley Road annexation and rezone.

The crowd on hand for the meeting were strongly opposed to the proposed annexation. After much discussion, the attorney for the property owner, Knoxville developer, Dan Barnett, asked that the matter be tabled to allow for more time to consider what they wanted to do with the property.

Dozens and dozens of residents and property owners have been opposing any annexation of that property since October of 2022 when it first came up. Apparently, most everyone except Loudon realtor/mayor/manager want to be, Jeff Harris, and a couple of city council members, Tim Dixon and Bear Webb and the Knoxville developer, are opposed to the annexation idea.

No doubt, this issue will be back at some point and I dare say, so will the community opposition.

To Knoxville developer, Dan Barnett, give it up, go away. You bought the property knowing it was in the county, under county regulations. Live with it, deal with it, move on.

To Loudon mayor and council members, back away from this one. The people who live there don't what what the city will bring to their community.
