Looking Back 3/22/23

One of Monday's Looking Back pictures generated a lot of questions. It was about the Easter Purdy-Ford Dealership. Most of the questions were, where was this. I guess I forget sometimes that not everyone reading my stories is as old as me or have lived here a long time. Wanting to thank Junior Bolt for posting the original picture on Facebook.

The answers are, this was the Easter-Purdy Ford Dealership, later Cotton Easter Ford, on Broadway in Lenoir City. It was at the intersection of Broadway and Kingston Street. Cotton Easter was the only one of the partners I knew. I remember watching my dad dicker with him over the price of a new Pinto he was buying for my sister in 1972.

Tragically, Mr. Easter died in 1975, drowning in the ocean in Florida. He was a very well liked man about town.
